Amazing fish and chips. The batter was the best we have ever had. We live locally but have not visited here for ages. Definitely on our route whenever we are in the area. Thank you for a lovely meal. Huge portions and delicious.

Had a couple of meals from Kirkgate Chippy now… (not local, but do treat myself to a chippy when tramping in Tad)… every item I’ve had has been delicious… went all out this time for the fish and chips. There was not a regular sized fish at the time available but were only too happy to serve me a large, (charged at the same price) which I really appreciated, they also had a deal for a free pot of mushy peas. I’ve been to some good chippys over the years but the fish from Kirkgate is by far the best I’ve had! The batter and fish itself was perfect, normally I love a bit of tartar sauce on the fish but didn’t have any nor was there a need! The service from the staff is always a nice experience, with a warm welcome and a friendly vibe. I look to future visits when in the town. 👍🏼

Ordered the haddock and peas and it was lovely. They are really generous portions so I skipped the chips this time. (Just get one portion of chips if there are two of you!) The batter is light and reminded me of proper 'seaside chippy!' Excellent.

Called in with my wife on the way home from York a couple of weeks back. We shared a special fish, chips and scraps. 100% the best fish and chips I’ve had in years! We will definitely be calling back in when we are in the area.

Another outstanding visit to Kirkgate fisheries in Tadcaster. Opted for 2 fish, 1 chips, 1 mushy peas & 1 large curry sauce. Fish cooked to order, crispy, not at all greasy. Chips crispy and not soggy, Curry sauce spicy which accompanied the food perfectly. Can't wait to visit again. 5 stars to all the team at Kirkgate fisheries. First visit after being recommended by a friend. Great little fish & chip shop. All cooked fresh to order. Portions are a good size, couldn't finish my fish & chips, and that doesn't happen very often. Best in Tadcaster for sure. Definitely returning. Thumbs up to all the staff. 2nd visit. Good fryday fish & chips. Great service, good sized portions, piping hot, freshly fried. Can't fault any aspect of Kirkgate Fisheries. Best chippy in area by far. Thanks to all the team at KF.

Rang them on the morning of our daughter’s party to cater for about 20 children after we got let down. They did it no issue, had everything ready in time and the food was great, the kids really enjoyed it. Lesson learned, we will go straight to them next time! Thanks again
